A little about me
Hey, y'all and welcome to the Classy Cactus. While you're here, I'd like to take the opportunity to introduce myself and my sweet little shop
I am a Jesus-lovin’, fashion-seekin', jewelry junkie, with a touch of a gypsy soul who lives off coffee and chaos. My roots are planted deep in the rural South, but the electricity of big city lights does entice my adventurous spirit! My favorite way to spend free moments is sitting around a campfire with my family and friends. I love swapping stories, roasting marshmallows, sipping my favorite drink of Crown and ginger with extra limes or maybe champagne. In a nutshell, I’m a classy southern lady, who may sometimes let a cuss word slip but always tries to extend a smile and a kind word just like my mama taught me. I believe kindness is the key to changing the world around us, the little world across the table from us, or next door to us, even the world spinning wildly inside each of us. I also believe each of us teaches others how to treat us. Ladies, be careful what you accept and intentional with your expectations!
I have been married for 25 years. (How the heck did I get that old!?!?) I would love to say that we skipped down yellow brick roads holding hands while searching for rainbows, but that would be a big ole lie!! Marriage is hard stuff! It's not for the weak or the easily discouraged. There were days I thought I wanted to get the heck out of Dodge! Thankfully, somehow we learned to get through the hard times and came out stronger. I wouldn't trade it for anything! (Or at least most days I wouldn't!) I am blessed to be the mom of 2 young boys and 1 grown Marine son; they truly are my biggest blessing in life. I'm not a picture perfect Mom, but I would like to think I have raised kind, loving humans. You know, raising humans isn't easy, but it is definitely the best job I've ever had. I love my kids more than life. My husband and I recently became Lolli and Pop (Lollipop) to our first grandson. I would tell you more about him, but I wouldn't be able to stop! Just know that he is true perfection, and I plan to spoil him rotten. I must also share that his sweet mother, my daughter-in-love, is a precious blessing to our family. In terms of family, I count myself unbelievably fortunate.
My journey to boutique ownership was more serendipitous than intentional. I can't say that I have always dreamed of owning a boutique. To be honest, it never crossed my mind. I spent the last 20 years in my dream job as a hair stylist making women feel confident and beautiful while simultaneously building my business, Klassix Salon & Spa. l truly have loved my business and my incredible clients and never thought I would leave my profession. It felt like home for many years. However when the opportunity to open my own boutique drifted unexpectedly into my life, I felt an excitement deep inside that I can't even explain! It just felt like an adventure I didn’t want to miss! It was a new way to share and connect with my clientele! I stepped out in faith, utter exhilaration, and a dash of “Holy crap!” and the Classy Cactus was born. The Classy Cactus is a boho-inspired boutique with a glam twist, Each garment, piece of jewelry, and beautiful shoe is thoughtfully chosen with my unique client in mind. After years of serving your beauty needs, I feel especially able to curate pieces you’ll adore and that will make you feel fantastic!
I hope you’ll drop in and visit! I can’t wait for you to see what we have in store! (pun totally intended!)
